The Han Dynastory 文翰王朝传: Time to Hide

Having settled smoothly in Singapore for more than two years now, the young self-proclaimed Emperor has joined the ranks of overworked Junior College students, establishing himself as an elusive weird-combination MOE scholar. Life is now and endless race to hand in one assignment after another, especially due to a notorious subject referred to as Perpetual Woes. Nevertheless, he continues to play music, dance, and draw comics. Unfortunately, of late he has fears that he is losing that fiery passion which once spurred his creative antics, for reasons unbearably melodramatic.

Somebody save him!

Time to Hide

Oops.... I guess the phrase "I'll be 19 this year" is a bit misleading.

Corrections:
Mom was diagnosed with her second cancer after she completed radiotherapy for her first cancer.

I forgot to mention that I made sure I took time off to "play hard, not just work hard," like my Dad used to tell me since my first day of school. For example, soccer during recess, soccer after studying in the library, dance lessons every weekend, drawing every now and then etc.

Girl problems is an understatement. (and I had to laugh when asked if I had a girlfriend)

Mom is looking for work as a story teller, not writer (although writing is her recently rediscovered passion)

The second last sentence should be rephrased to "I was struck by a revelation over the period of an enriching Geography course taught by a truly inspiring teacher that education is the foundation of human development." [haha]

Latest National Anthem

The latest National Anthem is "Para Machucar Meu Coração" composed by Ary Barroso. Written in Portugese, it literally means "To Break My Heart." I have no clue what the lyrics mean, but music communicates feelings in ways words cannot, and to me, this is a wonderful interpretation of the title.

The ever-present chord progressions on the guitar in the background provide good harmonic tension, which seems to reflect an unsettled mix of feelings. The saxophone solo and vocals convey a well of emotions, perhaps even a resigned acceptance of the this poor fate.

Picture a large spacious beach, with a lone man picking up the shattered remains of his heart, too choked up to cry, and so he sings. As he sings, the waves break against the shore and washes away his grief, as solemn acceptance gently seeps into him.

It won't be easy, but I'll accept my unfortunate fate.

Allied Online Empires

Wusuowei --- Once a union of 5 close friends: Myself, Hao Ran, -1, Chern Hui and Zi Xian. However, times have changed and Hao Ran has this shared playground. As to what will happen here, only time will tell.

影说"Shadow Says" --- Run by Hao Ran, his reign of photography captures the beauty of his empire.

故事篇 "Stories Storage" --- Ruled by Poh Yi, an Emperor whose true wonder can only be realized in person.

船头 "Boat Head" --- Reigned by Chern Hui whose blend of intelligence and funny thinking make him all the more unique.

Charles' Blog --- An empire all the way in Penang, run by Charles, whose sense of humour kept me entertained since Primary school.

Almost Faye-mous 2.2 --- Blog of the Sister who introduced the realm of Blogging to me in the first place!

The Tofukingdom --- King of Tofu! Bryan Chong from my primary school days rules his kindom with complicated puzzles and intelligence. His national anthem is likely to be played by the piano.

Adventures of a Young Emperor --- The one and only Irfan's Royal Antarctican Empire is finally up and running. All those whose passports carry the mark of The Han Dynastory must act courteously in these grounds - for fear of sparking an inter-kingdom dispute

A Collection of Profound Thoughts & Inquiries --- If you think Blogs by teenagers are about nothing but senseless gripes and hormone-charged infatuations (like mine), then you haven't read Trent Lai's Blog. His nation feasts on brain food all day.

Dreaming of You --- Benji Huang is one of the first good friends I made in Singapore. In fact, I knew him even before I moved! His online kingdom has recently been redecorated though with a subtle joke.

Marion's Blog --- Up till now I have never really been able to decide what the title really is, but "Marion's Blog" is an empire to be known. The Empress is the best friend of the opposite gender I've had in a long time.
